Choose the institution after you verify the programme.
Uganda has universities, other tertiary institutions, technical colleges, vocational institutes and skills centres. The safest career decision is to verify both the institution and the exact programme before paying fees.
Institution names and structures change
Several names in the older Career Guidance book are no longer the best current wording. Some former colleges have become university campuses, while the TVET Act 2025 changed the legal structure and names of some specialised institutions.
The list below keeps familiar historical names where useful, but clearly marks the current institution or the point that should be verified before enrolment.
