Careers in these areas deal with governance and justice which ensure peoples stability and confidence in their country. This category includes careers relating to matters of law in the mainstream as well as those in the para-legal field such as court clerks. It also include defense (army: navy, air force) paramilitary, police and intelligence services. It also includes jobs in private security firms as well as careers related to provincial administration.

This involves Planning, managing, and providing legal, public safety; protective services and homeland security; including professional and technical support services.

Career pathways in law, safety and corrections services
Corrections Services pathway
Workers who join careers in this pathway have strong interests in dealing with criminals after they are convicted, while they are in jailor prison, or after they are released and perhaps on probation They spend much of their time observing the behavior of inmates and dealing with how to keep them from escaping or harming other inmates. They also need to feed inmates and keep them healthy, even allowing certain inmates to participate in rehabilitation and education programs that will prepare them for their possible re-entry into society. Jobs include wardens, jail administrators, public information officers, probation/ parole officers, corrections educator, youth service workers and case managers.

Emergency and Fire Management Services Pathway
Workers in this pathway offer help when people need immediate assistance because of some emergency or crisis. They often risk their own lives and are part of a close-knit team of workers, almost like a family, who bond together and know how to work very well with all members of the team to accomplish the main objective to make the rescue! These jobs include emergency medical technicians, fire fighters, dispatchers and hazardous material responders.

Law Enforcement Services Pathway
Workers in this pathway are concerned with security and public safety matters. These workers are involved in areas such as immigration and customs, missing children, bombs and terrorism, regular neighborhood police and detective work, and even animal control activities. Such jobs include animal control officers, high patrol police/pilots, bomb technicians, child support/missing person investigators, criminal investigators and special agents, immigration and customs inspectors, police and detectives, private detectives and investigators, park rangers, transit and railroad police, police, fire and ambulance dispatchers.

Legal Services Pathway
Workers in this pathway are involved in exciting fields of law ranging from criminal law to corporate law, small town situations, or cases that may have national exposure or dealing with just about any topic that you can imagine. Such jobs include attorneys, court reporters, file and document managers, information officers, judges, law clerks, legal secretaries, paralegals and mediators/arbitrators.

Security and Protective Services Pathway
Workers who join careers in this pathway are interested in the safety and security of people, places, and things.

These workers might be guarding millions of shillings or standing by a security camera in your favorite mall watching for shoplifters; sitting in front of a computer tracing a criminal who is trying to break into your checking account. Jobs include corporate/agency security directors, security system designer/consultants, security systems technicians (install and maintain), armored car guards, computer security specialists, uniformed security officers (armed), transportation security supervisors, life guard patrol, private detectives and investigators.
